Use flannel fabric for more frayed effect. Cotton is okay for applique.
To make this quilt, you will need:
1 1/3 yard of fabric for (10) large background squares
1 yard of fabric for (8) large background squares
2/3 yard of 2 different fabrics for short rectangles
1 yard of 2 different fabrics for long rectangles
1/8 yard of 6 different fabrics for petals
1/8 yard of fabric for center of flower
2 yards of flannel for batting
2 spools all purpose thread
